This one week they spent at a cottage every summer is Harriet’s happy place. Or at least it used to be, but things have changed. Her and her ex fiancé Wyn, who is also a part of the group, broke up five months ago but non of their friends know about that.

Since it is going to be the last vacatioin ever they are going to spent at the cottage, they decide to act as if still happy together. The story is kind of bittersweet… Seing Harriet and Wyn seperated, unhappy but still drawn to eachother, while reading about their first encounter and how they fell in love with eachother more and more is heartbreaking in a way (I did not cry though! Okay okay I kind of did, but only once!).

I really like Harriet and Wyn! They are both well aware of their flaws and love eachother more than everything. I loved reading how they figured out what they need in life to be happy.

The book is really well written, not as funny as „Book Lovers“ though. The stile of story telling is similar to the one in „People we meet on vacation„, there is always a chapter set in the present followed by one set in the past and so on.

One of the best things about the book, in my opinion, is that it teaches you that your own happiness should always be your top priority and that you can not influence an others person’s happiness.
