Layla

Layla and Leeds meet at the wedding of Layla’s sister. When they first see eachother, it is love at the first sight, litteraly. Not having known eachother for long, they move in together and are living together with the expectancy of spending the rest of their lives together.
After an incident that changes not only their relationship but also Layla as a person, Leeds decides to bring her back to the place they met in order to strenghten their relationship.
Things do not work out as planned though, as there is someone else at the bed&breakfast tey are going to, someone who consumes Leeds‘ full attention and leaves him wondering if he might be losing feelings for Layla, the girl he thought he would be marrying.
Over te course of a couple of days, Leeds gets more and more inested in helping the other girl to find out why she is there and can not move on. Layla is soon to be freaked out by the super natural things happening around her and thinks she is losing her mind. She wants to leave, but in order to help Willow, Leeds needs her to stay exactly where she is. If she wants or not.

I really really like Colleen Hoover’s books and usually there is not much to say, but with this one I am still not sure what to think.
I like the style of writing, that is or sure, but I really do not know what my thoughts about the plot are. I really liked the beginng when Layla and Leeds met and fell in love, but after the incident that changed their lifes it just did not feel right. Them. They did not feel right anymore. in a way at least. I did not like Layla’s transition, she went from such a likable and funny woman to a woman with tons of mental problems. And still I was on her side until almost the end of the book. I hated how Leeds claimed to love her while letting her suffer for his own best.
The ending changed a lot, but I still did not like the violence, there robably would have been another way.
So there were some elements that left me with discomfort whie reading, but I also liked the book in a way.
I think this might be the first book that I can not decide on a star rating for. Maybe in a couple of weeks or months when it has been a while since i read the book, I’ll be able to rate it, but right now I can’t (And I’ve been thinking about this for almost a week now).
