A Good girl’s Guide To Murder

For a school project, Pippa decides to discover the truth about a mysterious murder that took place in the small town she grew up in years ago. Everyone in town is sure that Sal Singh is the one who murdered young Andie Bell all those years ago, but Pippa who knew Sal refuses to believe it.

Interviewing people from both Sal’s and Andie’s lives, Pippa is trying to figure out what happened that night. She soon notices that she needs to be careful who she trusts and that the case is far more complicated than she thought it was.

It seems as if she is on the right trail, as the perpetrator is sending her threatening notes, and even though she is scared, Pippa refuses to leave it. Not even when she realises that finding the real murderer will destroy the lives of several innocent people.

Reading more and more thrillers and murder mysteries I kind of regret buying so many romance books… What I really like about books like this one is that once you get to the really thrilling part, it seems to almost be impossible to put the book down.

I have to admit that about half-way into the book I was not all that impressed by it. It had taken me a chapter or two to get used to the way the story is told and the style of writing. After that it was pretty easy to read. But it did not seem to be special in any way. Thb, in some ways the book reminded me a lot of Every Word A Lie (which I read first, but was published after this one). I did not really get why everyone spoke to highly of this book.

At some point it just clicked and I became obsessed with this book! The end was absolutely unexpected and I was totally shocked. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
